If you are looking for 1-minute exercises for lazy people then you have come to the right place!
Here you will find 20 different one minute exercises that will help you both feel stronger and better. And better is the most important thing, right?
Firstly I should make it clear that I do not write a fitness blog.
BUT I do help moms dream big and live life with more intention and good health is such an integral part and contributing factor to how well we can function and excel in our role as parents.
I confess I often let exercise fall to the wayside but when I do, I can feel it in my bones and my general well-being. When you don’t take care of your health, you feel crappier, more lethargic, grumpy, stressed and generally just BLAH.
So here is my suggestion to you.
Don’t consider fitness as something that is super difficult to do. You also don’t need a gym membership to succeed. You can squeeze in simple exercises, right from the comfort of your own home.
If you do just 10 minutes of exercise a day that equals 60 hours of exercise per year that you probably weren’t expecting to do. Make it 20 minutes a day and you are moving your body and making it stronger for 120 hours a year.
Start small and don’t put so much pressure on yourself to be some super toned, super fit athlete.
But do understand that exercise makes you feel better (maybe not while you are doing it but definitely when you are done!) and if you feel better, this feeling will permeate all the other important areas of your life.
Here is a list of 20 1-Minute Exercises for Lazy moms.
Simply pick and choose whatever you like to get you moving at least 10 minutes a day. Make sure to always seek medical advice first if you are worried about your health or ability to exercise.
1 minute jumping rope
1 minute traditional plank
1 minute side plank
1 minute high knees
1 minute wall sit
1 minute jumping jacks
1 minute leg raises
1 minute sprint
1 minute mountain climbers
1 minute step up/step down to chair
1 minute triceps dip on chair
1 minute squats
1 minute lunges right leg
1 minute lunges left leg
1 minute ab crunches
1 minute push-ups
1 minute burpees
1 minute yoga bridge stretch
1 minute yoga cobra pose
1 minute yoga child’s pose
10 SIMPLE EXERCISE HACKS IF YOU REALLY HATE TO EXERCISE
1. Play your favorite music when you are exercising. It will make it more bearable if you aren’t usually inclined to working out.
2. Dancing also counts! If by the end of the day you haven’t attempted anything from the list, dance around for a few songs. Involve your kids too and make it fun.
3. Or you can do it while watching TV – this can be a time for you to squeeze in some fitness.
4. Always take the stairs instead of using the lift.
5. If you have a gaming console at home try out JUST DANCE – available both on PS4 and Xbox. This game is honestly SO MUCH FUN!
6. Buy a FITBIT – this is the easiest way to accurately track your daily activity and keep you motivated.
7. Keep a 90 DAYS Exercise and Diet Diary to track your progress.
8. Take your dog out for a walk – walking is the simplest way to keep fit and it counts!
9. Do anything – ANYTHING – that is fun. Play soccer or tag with your kids. Take them for a swim at the local pool. Explore your neighborhood on foot. Just get off your bottom and moving right now.
10. Finally always keep in mind your WHY.
LET’S ELABORATE MORE ON THIS LAST POINT BECAUSE YOUR WHY IS SO IMPORTANT
Why is it important for you to keep fit?
Certainly not because someone else is telling you it’s important I hope!
Do you want to increase your chances of living a long and healthy life?
Do you want to set a good example for your kids?
Do you want to simply FEEL BETTER and STRONGER?
Whatever your reason is BRING THIS REASON TO THE FOREFRONT OF YOUR MIND whenever you decide you don’t “feel like exercising”.
Trust me; we feel this way sometimes (or possibly every time!)
Yet as we tell our children, sometimes you gotta do what needs to be done simply because it is the right thing to do.
And health comes first, right? We all say that but how many of us actually act this way on a consistent, daily basis?
(If it makes you feel better, I will confess I don’t always.)
However if good health is indeed important to you, then it’s time to get your act together and prove it.
Make eating well and exercise a priority EVERY SINGLE DAY and don’t let other inconsequential stuff (in the grand scheme of things) or poor excuses get in your way.
Ten minutes, every single day. I honestly think we can do it!
