If you are a blogger, PINTEREST STRATEGIES is a course that you hear people rave about constantly. And of course, it caught my attention because it promised potential success WITHOUT the use of an automated pin scheduler.

When you first start blogging you hear about BoardBooster and Tailwind CONSTANTLY (which I admit slightly freaked me out because hey, I wasn’t familiar with either scheduler. I didn’t even know what a pinning scheduler really meant!).

So when the amazing Carly from Mommy On Purpose confessed that she regularly gets 200K page views a month to her blog without the use of either BoardBooster or Tailwind I was intrigued.

Because let’s be honest here – even after reading all the incredible reviews on both automatic pin schedulers, I still couldn’t get myself to commit to another blogging expense.

(For the record Tailwind costs $15 per month or $119 annually while BoardBooster costs from $5 per month for 500 pins. My aversion to signing up to either scheduler at the time was because I didn’t fully understand that sometimes you need to spend money to make money.)

So when PINTEREST STRATEGIES offered me a fantastic solution in the interim – manual pinning! – I jumped at it.

I want to start by saying that I have really grown to love Carly, since following her blog She is one of those bloggers who is just so sweet and down-to-earth. It helps immensely having a teacher that you admire and who not only talks the talk but walks the walk.

Carly is also right when she says her book PINTEREST STRATEGIES is completely different from any strategy offered elsewhere. Everyone always pushes automated pinning and yet here is Carly who has achieved amazing success doing it a completely different way that is easy to replicate if you follow the suggestions in her book.

Yes manual pinning means you need to do the work manually but have no fear. It is a lot easier than you might suspect. Carly shares with readers her secret strategy and tips in her book so you can follow the process without feeling overwhelmed (15 minutes to an hour every day is all it takes).

What I love about this course is that Carly tells you exactly what to do and how to do it. Also she doesn’t stress about the need to niche down (and explains why this is the case) which was exactly what I needed to hear at the time.

Blogging is hard without a plan

Nowadays I try to do as much manual pinning – around 30-40 pins a day, 80% my own content and 20% of other people’s pins on group boards (you will learn all about the importance of group boards in her book.)

I started my blog last year and since implementing her strategies my blog has grown consistently every single month. By the end of April I was up to 65,000 pageviews. Woohoo!

Carly recommends that you should have AT LEAST 25 great (and hopefully monetizable) posts written before implementing this strategy. This means the course suits immediate bloggers – which is perfect for me as I am always on the lookout out for more advanced blogging strategies and techniques.

People rave about this course for a reason. It is a must-have resource that will take your blog and business to the next level.

Full disclosure:

I should note that even though my preference is manual pinning I still eventually signed up to Tailwind, instigated by the fact that I was going on holidays and didn’t want to lose my pinning momentum. No internet = impossible for me to stick to manually pinning plan. Tailwind is my backup in these instances and it is so, so easy to use. You can click here to learn more.
