Before I Die

What would you do differently if you knew that in one year you were going die?

Seventeen years ago I had an idea that sparked a fire inside me and led me to write one of my first fiction books titled BEFORE I DIE: A PACT. The premise was simple:

If you knew you had only year left to live, what would you do differently? Continue reading

The Secret I Forgot About

Back in 2006, Rhonda Byrne released The Secret, a film and book which soon became a worldwide self-help phenomenon. In a nutshell, The Secret was based on the law of attraction and claimed that positive thinking can create life-changing results. The book revealed to the world the amazing power we all hold to transform our lives and how everything we are experiencing right now is simply a reflection of our past thoughts.

13 Reasons Why – An Alternative Perspective

Back in 2007 Jay Asher released a young adult novel called Thirteen Reasons Why which eventually hit the number one spot on the New York Times best-seller list in July 2011. The concept of the book was amazingly simple – Hannah Baker leaves behind 13 audio tapes before committing suicide. Following her death, a classmate named Clay finds a mysterious box on his porch containing these recordings, which explain the thirteen reasons why Hannah killed herself. That same year Universal Pictures purchased the film rights to the novel and in late 2015 it was announced that Netflix and Paramount Television would be turning the book into a miniseries with Selena Gomez as the executive producer.

My Gift To You

Well what can I say – it’s been way too long since I last posted an article here on this blog. Hopefully you will forgive me for my tardiness. Over the last few months I have been busy prepping all my books for availability on various platforms outside of Amazon (where my books were previously exclusively published). Given that I have 18 books, this was a time-consuming task but I managed to pull it off just in time for my birthday next week (best birthday gift ever!)

How Oprah Opened My Eyes To The World

I know I’m not the only person in the world slightly obsessed with Oprah. By now everyone has worked out just how fabulous this powerhouse woman is. But as a thirteen year old switching on the TV back in 1988 and discovering her talk show for the first time I was completely blown away by the immediate connection I felt with this woman. She was down-to-earth, funny, unassuming and friendly – an adult I could finally relate to! Unlike all the adults in my life, she seemed intent on listening to what others had to say and she knew how to ask all the right questions and give all the right answers.

CONFESSION TIME: When Your Best Friend Is A Reality TV Star

The law of attraction states that like attracts like but in my experience I have found that just as often opposites attract.  That is the most accurate way to describe the friendship between myself and one of my oldest and dearest friends Jane*. Growing up we were the quintessential Odd Couple, a contrasting duo much like Batman and Robin or the essence of yin and yang. We met in our last year of high school and even though we were polar opposites we instantly gravitated towards each other. I was inherently quiet, she was hilariously loud. I was painfully sensible; she knew how to be a little reckless without breaking the rules.
